I usually give the HF report at the monthly PARC meeting,
but band conditions have been so irregular that I have been taking up ice fishing
and poetry (send all complaints off-list):

The once was a Mortimer Kidd
Who everyone thought was a LID
Then he cleaned up his act
Got his Extra, in fact
And the crud from his signal he rid

A contester once used to cry
When QRM buried his try
Then he cranked up the juice
And with keyer, let loose
Till the other guy went QSY

A 10-10er Harrison Duff
Wished to contest to show off his stuff
He made not a Q
Which I think it was due
To 10 Meters at night being ruff

Young contester Horace McPhee
Ran a run when he needed to pee
Had to piss in his pants
Or else miss the chance
Of aceing a sweet victory

A rag chewer always gets mad
When contests make QRM bad
When will this 'test end
Cause he's ready to send
Hoping contesting is just a fad

There once was DX in Calcutta
That caused a DXer to mutter
A pasionate plea
To the powers that be
When I give out my call let's not stutter

DX guys can sure make a stash
By doing what some would call brash
By calling CQ
>From an island or two
QSLing for 3 dollars cash

A pileup that's massively big
Requires a powerful rig
To blast through the noise
Making other rigs toys
While raking in Q's like a pig

A contester Harry James Pugh
Was learning what everone knew
You search and you pounce
For minor amounts
Or go running by calling CQ

I tried to go SO2R
But I didn't get very far
Got stuck in the mire
Of decoder wire
And turned my new RX to char

This contesting software by Tree
Makes it easy as easy can be
It pops on the screen
And it rotates your beam
Then you call it with your F1 key

There once was a ham named McGee
Who wanted to tune up a tree
