[ETO_Alpha] Wax On, Wax off

Was wondering if there's an intelligent rule of thumb with regard to wear 
and tear on the finals, etc. - whether it's less taxing to power the amp 
down and back up or better to leave it idling for a period of one hour, two 
hours, etc?  Appreciate any helpful comments.  BTW, very happy user of an 
Alpha 99 here.
