Hi all,
I just put on a new face & top cover on my old Alpha 78. I thought
I was going to have problems but everything went very smooth. I was advised
by Glen at Crosslink that I might have to loosen the 2 meters to align them
with the new face, but the face went right on like it was made for my unit.
The new face & cover are high quality units with very nice paint &
lettering just as you would expect from Crosslink (ALPHA).
Now I have a sticky face & cover to get rid of. I really do not
want to throw them away, as I'm sure that SOMEONE out there can make use of
them. There is a rumor that if you soak them in water overnight, the
stickiness goes away, but I cannot confirm that.
Except for the stickiness, the face is in great shape with the
exception of the top left screw hole--somebody had bad aim with their
screwdriver and put a few scratch marks there. The cover has numerous
scrapes and smudges, but there are no dents or deep scratches.
Now the best part---THEY ARE YOURS FOR FREE---All you have to do
is pay me for the shipping which should run under $20, saving yourself
almost $200 compared to buying new ones. E-mail or call me M-F 7AM-5PM EST
at 914 769 3114, or after 7PM EST at 845 526 3221 if you want them.
