And I'm reminded that I worked out a mod to greatly improve the 
operation of the AF limiter on transmit. It was fairly simple, and 
involved moving a few parts around in the TX audio chain to increase 
gain by 10 dB or so, so that it hit the limiter harder, and roll off low 
frequency components of speech that waste transmitter power, and degrade 
speech intelligibility.

My mods did get reproduced somewhere at the time. I'll look for notes I 
made to my manual back then (2003-4).

There is NO bluetooth protocol that would allow sidetone for sending CW 
by hand. The faster protocol compromises distance range to allow 
sidetone for speech.
