For Eric, NF6S:
FYI, FANticipator is still working (I use it everyday to control my KPA1500
fans / temps) and can be downloaded via the groups.io forum. I host both of
FANticipator and KPA1500 forums.
73.
Jonathan, KK7PW
" Hi Gang,
I recently upgraded my KPA1500 to factory fw 3.06.? I have noticed:
When FAN DWELL is set to 255, it is actually set to infinity--the fan never
shuts off, even after the amp returns to room temp.
When FAN DWELL is set to 240, the same thing happens.??
When FAN DWELL is set to 60, it works fine.
I didn't test the intermediate values, but having long fan dwell times
would help keep the amp cooler over long sessions, especially now that
FANticipator no longer works (RIP, Larry, and thank you).
Yes, I've set up the PF keys to increase and decrease the fan speeds, but
this is a PITA and really adjusting them manually is too much for a $5k amp.
Some of you may respond that you never have a problem--that's because you
send at 30 wpm, not 17wpm.? My amp does not heat up at those speeds, either.
Please can you fix the fan dwell, or implement an optional more aggressive
fan profile (like used on 6m).
Thank you.??
73,
Eric NF6S"
