[Elecraft] k3 Mic gain self resetting to 1

Try this: shut down the computer, and turn the gain (etc.) to their 
correct settings. Then turn the K3 off and on again. Do the settings 
reset? If so, the problem is in the K3. If not, it has something to do 
with the computer and the program.
