I gave used Mac for years and there are lots of folks that do.    Go with Howard’s advice first, if you have not already done so.  

Odds are the settings in WSJT-X are not quite right.   Check the Rig settings in WSJTX.   You might have a check mark set incorrectly, something like DTR or RTS, for example, when you should not have …

I loaded WSJTX on a IMAC and ran into this issue on my K3:  I have receive and Tx ok but I also have  ERR PTT displayed.  Pressing any key does not clear this error and I have no access to power adjust as an example.  CAT does go green but still the error.
I have gone over my WSJTX settings and settings on the K3 as listed in the manual, and I think I have the audio set correctly in the MAC.

I can run WSJTX on a PC with the K3 without any issue.

I have a feeling that not many folks use Mac but it is what I would prefer to use.
