[Elecraft] KX3 in multi radio environment

I have both K3 and KX3 and used both radios for contesting.

KX3 has much lower BDR and unusable when there is another local or
strong inband transmitter. It also switches preamp off and ATT on
automatically when the radio hears inband signal of 59+30db or more.
Another shortcoming of KX3 is that the RX image channel is only
suppressed by 50-60 DB. Conclusion:

K3 is sure much better radio for crowded contest then KX3.

I would not expect it to be as good as a K3, but is it usable? Anything special you have to do to it? I'm thinking at a minimum a set of band filters, which would be easy even with the 100 watt amp.
