What digital modes? For WSJT modes, study their documentation.
For all digital modes, use Digital A, feed audio from computer to Line
Input (Mic Gain becomes Line In Gain). Adjust audio levels so that CMP
shows 4 bars flashing 5 when transmitting. Don't bother with using
control lines for PTT, use VOX, set VOX gain so that rig keys reliably.
To decode the weakest signals, set audio gain from rig to computer so
that when receiving, green bar at left side of WSJT-X is as high as
possible without turning Red.
Don't tell WSJT-X to configure your operating mode, do that manually.
Set Split to Fake It. All you need rig control to do is set and read TX
frequency.
Make sure that all the equipment in your station, including the
computer, is properly bonded -- chassis-to-chassis, and to all the
grounds in your home (rods, coax entry, power, telco, CATV), that all
end-fed antennas have an effective counterpoise, and that there are
effective common mode chokes at the feedpoint of all antennas. All of
this is good engineering practice for all modes, most of it is required
by law, is critical for lightning protection, and minimizes RF feedback
(RF in the shack) that can interfere with good operation.
For proper bonding, study N0AX's ARRL book on the topic, to which I
contributed, and/or the pdf of slides for talks I've done at Pacificon,
Visalia, and to several ham clubs.

Can't help with configuring those other programs.
