[Elecraft] KAT 500 Firmware

I tried to install the new firmware this morning with the following error:

 

When the KAT500 utility connects to the port, it says unexpected device.  

 

Then I go to the main screen in the utility, and it is not reading any information from the KAT 500.  There is obviously no communication with the KAT 500 in spite of the port being confirmed open.  No installed version info and Send Firmware is grayed out.

 

I tried the force firmware mode, but my manual led does not stop blinking until I remove power.
