That depends upon the power supply. My Astron has over-current protection that shuts it off in the event of a short. The output stays off until I cycle the power switch on the Astron, so I don't use any additional protection.

Are folks hooking their radios directly to the power supply without a fuse inline?  I noted that the Elecraft supplied cable for my K3S did not include a fuse.
