Interesting point. I hunted down the data sheets for the most recent versions, and they are different. The specs give “internal impedance” after discharge to 1.0 V, measured at 1000 Hz.

Eneloop (white) BK-3HCDE: Approx. 25mΩ
Eneloop Pro (black) BK-3HCDE: Approx. 40mΩ
