Bret,

One more thing - if you are using the K3S internal soundcard, make 
certain you do not have anything plugged into the LINE IN jack.
A plug in LINE IN overrides and disconnects input from the internal 
sound card.

How do you have the LINE IN level set?  Try increasing it to see if you 
can get a waterfall display.
