[Elecraft] [KX2] Digi Mode Newb looking for advice

I have happily acquired a newish KX2 and a SideKar (and Signal Link usb). Now that I have the hardware I'd like to jump in. There seems to be more modes then ever. Any advice or suggestions on which are the "hot" modes at the moment or what modes are best for a beginner? Best for portable use? Books, links or Youtube videos that you have found helpful? Thanks! It is not possible to cheat Ohm's Law. If you try, you will have to answer to the Blue Smoke Monster.
