OTOH, most automobiles are manufactured by the millions, by companies with budgets in the billions.  And, I suspect that the "discounts" are already built into the pricing strategy.  Last year's models usually benefit from a price reduction, mostly because the dealerships do not want the inventory cost of keeping a lot of old models around.

A much different market scale.
