A couple of thoughts, derived from a million miles of HF mobling.
Remember, most of the usable radiation ... by far ... from any
center-loaded
antenna is from the portion -below- the coil, and the "Q" of the loading
coil
is -extremely- important.
Read Alan, K0BG's mobiling website ... a must-read- for any serious mobiler.
Hustler's mobile antennas are always at or near the bottom of listed results
at mobile antenna "shoot-outs". Their coil forms are very lossy and the
white
shrink tubing used to cover the coils fits so poorly that "standing" water
will
collect under the cover. I once literally had steaming water dripping out
of
one after running 100W while driving in the rain on 75M. (;-(
