[Elecraft] KX3 2m module problem: missing band map for 144

I followed these steps per the installation manual rev 3A (8/13/14):
1) Attach power to the KX3 and tap BAND- and ATU_TUNE switches simultaneously to turn it on.
2) With the KX3 on, hold the MENU switch to enter the menu.
3) Verified firmware is 2.12
4) Turn VFO B knob to 2M/4M MODE and turn VFO A knob to nor.
5) Turn VFO B knob to BND MAP. Tap the BAND- and BAND+ switches as needed to display 144 for the 2 meter module or 70 for the 4 meter module, and then turn the VFO A knob, if needed, to display In.
Step five is where I’m having the problem. There is no 144 band, it jumps from 50.0 back to 1.8. Does the module tell the KX3 micro-controller what band it is; i.e. 2m or 4m? Perhaps it’s not communicating.
Thanks,
Lou
