[Elecraft] K3 and wireless intruder alarm

I have Protection 1 and noticed an increase in noise level once the system was installed especially on 6m. I moved my antenna from above the house to my tower that is away from the house and the noise reduced significantly. Other bands did not seem as affected. The antenna was above my house and not far from other homes and residences so this might be coincidental to my neighbor installing a new plasma or something like that too.

Good luck!

The coupling mechanisms are primarily poorly filtered signal wiring, Pin One Problems, poor circuit layout, and poor shielding. To the extent that it has less external wiring, a wireless system MIGHT be less problematic, but those other mechanisms are still there. Suppression methods are addressed in http://k9yc.com/RFI-Ham.pdf
