[Elecraft] K3 and wireless intruder alarm

I suspect that you'll probably be OK going wireless, especially running only 100 watts. Our security system is about 22 years old and is a WIRED system, meaning a lot of wires (antennas!) running through the walls of our two story home. With my K3 running barefoot at 100 watts, I experienced NO interference to the system when using either my ground mounted Hustler 5BTV or my 88-foot long doublet at 40 feet. However, when I purchased the KPA500 and ran 500+ watts to the vertical, it was a different story. Had lots of interference to the security system and a few other in-home devices. I wound up placing several ferrite beads on each end of every wire going into the control box of the security system  - a couple at the box, and a couple more at the "operator panels" on the doors. Seemed to resolve the problem. With your wireless system, you "shouldn't" have those problems at 100 watts. If you get an amp, all bets are off!!!
