I took me awhile to find it again.  I see in this link they use the word 'developing' instead of 'supporting' as is sometimes mentioned.  Here is the link;  (See item 2)

There may be some mis-understanding going around.  I get the message that mozilla is going to concentrate on Thunderbird's stability instead of developing new features.  I think I will go with it.
