I find the main benefit during contests for S&P and for simplex Dx pileups. Using them with Lo-High adjustment gives results, especially since I don't have a directional antenna.
They are not a cure-all, but they are helpful. Of course the DSP cannot do everything by itself or there would be no need for filters for CW.
