Couple of notes:

The Freescale 1200w 2m amp is really making an impact for eme level
operation as the amp can be located near the antenna thus avoiding
large low-loss feedlines (more on that, below). I discovered another
source of this amplifier from Communications Concepts, Inc.
http://www.communication-concepts.com/index.php/

BTW the Freescale amp is available for 432 and 1296 in 500w and 1000w
versions. Original articles on this amp were published in Dubus
Magazine (link on my website).

CCI is the source of my HF amplifiers that I build (AN762 & EB27A).

Regarding used hardline: I think the original reply was referring to
cable-TV remnant. I have used Heliax running with no issues except
maybe slightly higher loss than brand new. My 20-year old 1-5/8 inch
runs nearly the same specs (I did cut off significant amounts from
either end of a 200-foot piece). I am running two 50-foot sections
of 7/8 Heliax to my 6m beam and a 80-foot run of 1/2inch for my 222 yagis.

I run 1400w in the 1-5/8 line and will run 800-1100w on 6m.

So if used cable is offered free try it out. You may want to trim
off a foot on the ends and reinstall connectors to be sure that no
moisture contamination has occurred.
