Well, it does need something special actually. An unregulated, unfiltered
wall wart would not work and potentially could damage the rig! I would look
for a small switching unit as they are generally both regulated and filtered
 What ever you do get, be sure to measure the voltage it puts out before you
connect it to the rig.

It shouldn't need anything special... use a multimeter to measure how 
much current it's drawing from your Astron, and find a 12V wall-wart 
rated for more than that.
