The K3 besides offering VOX Gain and anti-VOX settings also offers a
"noise gate" that is very useful for cutting out shack noise while
responding to your voice. There is some interaction between all three
so some experimentation will be needed to acheive a desired action.

I don't use VOX regularly, however, I have found it easier on the K3 to
use VOX during a rare phone contest and in a special event operation
than PTT. It's a good tool for when you're the center of attention.
