Thanks to everyone for the quick response,

I solved the problem. The modification was first mentioned in the K1 builder alert #1 and is also found in the later than revision C manuals. The actual description on how to do the modification or how to solder in RF-R39 varies on the revision number of the manual and also depends on the PCB layout of the RF board.
