That's not generically true, although it should be true for FTDI-based
devices. I have a non-FTDI that shows up as "ATEN USB to Serial Bridge
(COM4)" and several EdgePort ports like "EdgePort [V12448485] Serial
Port - 2 (COM12)" (etc.).
The best way to be sure is to bring up the list in Device Manager,
then unplug/replug the USB connection, and see which device
disappears/reappears.
