[Elecraft] K3: CW in SSB mode broken?

[N3XX]

I must be missing something.  Can someone explain why you would want to send 
CW in SSB mode?
I did go and find the setting, changed it to SSB +CW, and it works fine 
here, using firmware 4.36.
