[Elecraft] Fwd: KX3's KXBC3 NiMH Battery Charger & RT Clock!

*Howdy, Folks.*

*My KX3-K is S/N 2917.  I've got the KXBC3 kit installed.  [I just got my
KX3 on the air last night and made my 1st QSO tonight.  WOW! what a GREAT
little rig.]  I've set the clock several times & every time I turn my KX3
back on, it starts over from "zero" time.  That's what my question is all
about & I've waited 5 +/- minutes between cycling.*

*According to the installation instructions for this kit, I assembled
Battery Retainer & Shield per Page 8, Fig. 2. and "fit-checked" it.  Then
on Page 9, Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 it says to remove this assembly and "set it
aside".  [I've got this assembly currently installed & with my KX3's case
closed.]*

*Do I leave it installed or do I remove it while I operate on an external
power supply?  [I don't plan on installing any batteries at this time
because of all the horror stories about battery leakage.]  When I look at
the Menu , it says I don't have this kit "not inst".  I've complied with
the 4th bullet on Page 12.*

*If I remove this assembly, will my clock then stay "set"?  Or will I
always have to be set my clock every time I turn my KX3 on?  Do I leave it
in or do I remove it?*
