I think you are correct...

The way Powerwerx does it is the accepted way by emergency groups so that all the powerpoles will mate with each other from various sources. And it's the way that the "Rig Runners" have it, etc.

It was hard to tell, but the model airplane guy in the video MIGHT be
positioning the connectors backwards from the amateur radio accepted
practice.
