[Elecraft] Power Pole connection

I want to thank everyone who responded to my inquiry.

It turns out that I do have the "good" tool, and did use it, but I hadn't
looked at the assembly procedure as detailed as I did now, and I see that
my problem was that I didn't have the 2 contacts, red and black, flat
before inserting them into the holders so there was some stress on the
connection which led to the plug not penetrating all the way in.  I've
since made a new cable, put it together very carefully, and I did feel the
"snap" when I inserted it into the K3.  Also, after being on the air last
night running 95 watts for a while, the connectors were cool to the touch.

BTW what was very helpful was a you tube video on assembling the Power Pole
connectors...In the video I also learned that it is important to connect
the red and black plastic holders together before inserting the contact,
which I did not do in the past.
