Good Evening,
    Signs of autumn are all around me.  Red of the vine maple and gold 
of the big leaf maple.  The fir and hemlock are just a tad greyer than 
they were a few months ago.  Deer are rather scarce but the hunters keep 
looking for them.  Satellites are whizzing overhead but they only got to 
within eighty miles of me.  A couple more days in the high 60s but going 
back into the 50s again later this week.  Rain and clouds so maybe 
summer is at an end.
    Propagation is getting better over the last few days.  Higher and 
higher frequency bands are opening.  So I set up another rig right in 
front of me.  Well at eye level anyway.  I need to reattach the feedline 
to its HF antenna but I am waiting for a rainy day to climb the ladder 
and solder in the wind.  Antenna work under factory conditions yields 
less than optimal capability.  May the sun stay active as we move into 
winter.
