I can't let this go unchallenged.
It may be common, but it's wrong, wrong, wrong.
The apostrophe indicates possesive.
Your english teacher would thank me for this.
Worst I ever saw refered to a bunch of "battery's"
I want a bumper sticker that says "Help stamp out the apostrophe"!

I assume that "60's" does refer to something that belongs to 1960,
therefore potentially correct.
Different than (not 'then'!!!) "the temperature is in the 60s".
Even that should probably be "different from...".
