Mike, It sounds like you have memories set up on both sides of 146 MHz.

There is a relay that clicks when you shift L.O. frequency range from
144-146 and 146-148 MHz in the K144XV. 

Try tuning across 146 MHz with your VFO and see if you hear the same click.
If so that would be it, but it should not click when changing frequencies
within either the 144-146 or 146-148 ranges.

When I use M>V and the vfo A knob to cycle through 2m memories I hear a
relay click each time I move to a new 2m memory, even before hitting M>V
to exit that mode.  Is this expected?  It doesn't seem necessary.
