Jim,
So you are 79! Congratulations, but age really has nothing to do with
building unless it has rendered you with hands so shaky that you cannot
insert component leads into holes and do a good job of soldering, and/or
if your eyesight has dimmed to the point where you cannot discern where
to place those leads - magnifiers will help if you are beginning to have
those focusing problems.
All kits, no matter how large or complex go together the same way - one
part at a time, let the instructions be your guide, don't skip around,
the Elecraft instructions are written in the best order to proceed and
have been field tested by a substantial group before release.
All in all, if you can read and follow the instructions correctly, and
can do a good job of soldering, then you can build Elecraft kits at any age.
If you don't understand something in the instructions - well, that is
what this list is about, feel free to ask and help will likely come
along quickly, and if you have trouble, ask about that, we can usually
help, but if not, an email to support at elecraft.com will bring you
further assistance.
73,
Don W3FPR
