That works! I thought the tuner remained in the same position because no relay clicks were audible when turning the VFO across the band.

  See page 56 in the user manual.  Put the K3 on the band you want to
  clear.  Go to CONFIG:KAT3:LC SET.  Tap CLR.  This should clear the
  memories for that band.
