[Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net Report for June 7th & 8th, 2009

Good Evening,
   Conditions seemed pretty good on both bands but the number of check ins does not mirror this.  Twenty meters seemed pretty clear with strong signals from each person checking in.  Forty meters had QSB and some loud QRN from a storm.  I expect those storms will be a part of our proceedings until winter.  I did get an email this morning with some interesting callsigns.  One in particular caught my eye: KI6ZSB.  Congratulations!  One of these days I may hear that callsign on ECN.  
   The weather reports were consistently cold and stormy until Rick checked in.  I think he had the highest temperature reported with full sun.  Very odd indeed.  Just got a note about the droughty conditions in Minnesota.  Very unusual, they are going to have to import mosquitoes soon so they don't break some kind of environmental laws ;)  Here the clouds are thick, the air is still, but the lighning has ceased for now.  No rain today but it is rather chilly.  Yesterday I broke down and started a fire.  52 degrees was just too cold for me.  Guess I am getting old :(  Now that computer displays are solid state I can no longer warm my hands over the vents.  Kind of like these rigs: no golden heaters to warm your hands and feed the dreams of distant contacts.
