Good Evening,
A very fine week here in Oregon. Warm and fairly dry with temperatures in the 50s. This weekend it is getting hot though; temperatures are rising into the mid 70s. If I stand on my front deck I can hear the flowers opening! I know the frogs are very happy because I can hear them calling from ponds in two directions. The grouse are thumping away as background noise. There is still some snow if you search for it but most of it stopped falling early in the week. I did read where Colorado got a fair amount so winter still is making its effects felt. But the ice is off the lakes in the wilds of Saint Paul. Hopefully people got their trucks off the ice in time ;)
Conditions on twenty meters were marginal but we are receiving some ionization via the solar wind. I read where the CMEs are not very energetic. They are travelling only via the force of the solar wind and not through their own impetus. We are indeed at solar minimum, there can be nowhere except up from here. QRPTTF is now official; NA5N finally got his connectivity problem fixed and the rules for QRPTTF were one of his very first messages. Now to find a local WPA/CCC site. I know Oregon is full of them but which one is closest and has the best propagation to the populations centers? Almost any old state park or hiking trail qualifies because they were constructed by the CCC guys. It will be fun working from the field again, this event always signifies spring has begun in Oregon even though it may be chilly and wet.

Please join us tomorrow evening.
