[Elecraft] XV Transverter Operation with "Other" Radios

Hello Ken:

A K60XV interface is NOT required. See "Elecraft K2 with no K60XV Interface"
in the "Installation" instructions on page 6 of the Owner's manual. The
owner's manual may be downloaded from the Elecraft web site here:

The only thing you must have in the K2 is a KIO2 interface (provides the AUX
interface with  band data for the transverter). 

The Owner's manual contains instructions for interfacing any of the Elecraft
transverters with non-Elecraft HF rigs as well.

Hello all,
The XV transverter manuals provide information on connecting the
transverters to almost any radio with 28MHZ.

Does this me it "cannot" be connected to the K2 without a K60VX and KIO2?
About $200.00 more!

The XV manual talks about getting a "Transmit Key Signal (TX Key)" to pull a
5V logic level to 0.5V or less. Where would you get this on a K2?
