[Elecraft] Muting mic when voice keying (was K3 Monitor)

I must be missing something.  From the way I read the manual you just 
turn Line in on and set the level and then you go back to Mic + line in 
and the level for line in is retained and different than the mic level. 
  Did I not understand the manual?
