[Elecraft] K3 and Windows Vista - the solution!

Lennar,

Vista and USB have nothing to do with each other. I did all my K3 firmware 
updates through a Microham Digi Keyer.

The problem with USB2SER hardware and software ports is that more 
applications have 'seen' the COM PORT and lock or poll them even if these 
applications are not running while using the port with the K3.

The hardware solution you have now is always the best. I bought an RS232 
extension card myself in case of ever having a PC without COM ports.
