Stan,

Diversity reception has been around for quite a while.
It involves having 2 receivers connected to different antennas at 
different locations.  Best at HF if one is horizontally polarized and 
the other vertical, but will work if the two antennas are separated by a 
wavelength or so even if the polarization is the same.

The idea is that the different antennas will not suffer from QSB and 
other sources of fading at the same time.  If you have only one antenna 
for each band, diversity will buy you nothing.
