I run 5 to 10 watts on my K2 all the time. I get a lot of comments about the
signal and that they can't believe I'm only running ten watts. It happened
again just last night on CW. In fact, I checked into the Elecraft SSB net on
Monday night and the control operator couldn't believe I was only running ten
watts. There were one or two others running ten watts also. I think there is
more to the mojo than the other guy having a big antenna with a huge amount of
gain. I only run a vertical or a magnetic loop and I'm still able to work DX.
Maybe not as much as the guy with a zillion watts and a high gain antenna
farm. Again, it's the mojo which is a great equalizer. :-)
