You should be okay, Bill. Note that the GFI does *not* require a working
ground! It only monitors the current flowing in the two sides of the mains
line and, if there's a discrepancy, opens the circuit on the assumption that
the "lost" current might be flowing through you to ground. 

I'm not sure what test equipment you're using, but for just a few dollars
you can pick up an outlet tester that is invaluable. It will tell you if the
ground is working and whether the hot and neutral lines are properly
connected as well. It's small and lightweight - just plugs into the outlet
with three lights that report the status of the outlet.

I am building my K2 s/n 6301 in my Travel Trailer.  I
have plugged my esd wrist strap and pad into the
ground port of a GFCI outlet.  I think this is my only
true ground, assuming that the Camp Ground post is
properly grounded.  All of my test quipment say the
post is wired properly as well as the outlet.  Any one
know, if I am correct?
