Thanks to all who sent me good advice and suggestions regarding
my problems with SSB transmission.  In the end I received a hint
from Lyle Johnson, KK7P, that solved the problem.  During the
initial setup of the filters, I somehow managed NOT to set the value
for FL TX SB properly, and it was set to a filter number that is not
used in my filter arrangement.  As soon as I set the value to the
proper filter position (where the 2.7 kHz filter resides), all was well.

My face is red; I apologize to all for the bandwidth; and this goes
to show how important it is to follow all the setup steps VERY
carefully.  I'm having lots of fun learning about this radio and all
its features, and hope all that have ordered will get theirs in good
time!
