[Elecraft] N1MM and SSB and audio

I'm going to try to operate SSB for the first time (ever!) for SS SSB.
I'm trying to puzzle out the connections between computer, headset and
K2 to make my life as easy as possible while using N1MM logging.

(I've got this SSB card, I might as well learn to use it.)

It appears that the N1MM logger will do automagic playback of canned 
audio from my computer. That obviously requires suitable cabling. I'm
making up an adapter for my headset to the 8-pin mic input -
can I "y" in a cable to the audio output of my laptop? Will
that be at too high a level if I just connect it to mic-in?
