A wise project manager once said - 

You can have your novel, one-of-a-kind, never-done-before project on time, or on budget, or on spec. But you can't have all three.

Most people opt for the delay in order to hold the price down and maintain quality.

Everyone sets achieving all three as a goal.  Missing the timeline is not surprising. I just ordered my K3 and will be smiling in anticipation of its arrival next year.  Meanwhile, anybody want an Icom 756 Pro II?
