[Elecraft] K3 Mic MH2 on K2

My K2, s/n 5601, is currently wired as a Kenwood, and
I'm using a Kenwood MC-60A desk mic. Looking at the
MH2 vs Kenwood wiring on the K2, they appear (almost)
identical except for pins 5 & 6. So, I'm thinking if I
wanted to use the MH2 on the K2, I'd just need to whip
up an adapter cable for the MH2. Essentially, run pins
1, 2, 3, 4, 7,& 8 on the K2 side straight thru to the
MH2 side, leave pin 5 (func) on the MH2 side
unconnected, leave pin 6 on the K2 side unconnected,
and run pin 5 on the K2 side (5v) to pin 6 on the MH2
side (5v). That way the MH2 would see the same pinout
as if the K2 were wired for an MH2 (except for func -
not connected - which I don't care about). I'd mainly
be doing this if I were going portable w/the K2 and
didn't want to drag the MC-60A (desk mic) along.
Similarly, I could create a slightly different adapter
cable to use the MC-60A on my (newly-ordered) K3.
Anyone see any problems w/this approach?
Thanks.
