Folks... for your enjoyment and (hopefully) delight):

To observe the 90th anniversary of the First Transcontinental Relay
of Formal Message Traffic, the Mid-MO Amateur Radio Club of Jefferson
City, Missouri, will activate a 24-hour Special Event Station using
call sign "W9C" beginning 2000 UTC on Saturday, January 27, 2007.

The event is in commemoration of the work of 18-year old Willis
Porter Corwin, 9ABD, of Jefferson City who was the third station in
the relay that set the transcontinental record on this date in 1917.

Unfortunately, the newspaper left out several of the pix from their
Internet-readable article. If you'd like to see pix of the 9ABD shack
(outside), his antenna, and RX/TX, please drop me a note and I'll
ship them off to you a.s.a.p.

CW frequencies will be approximately 40 kHz. above the lower band
edges of 80, 40, 30, and 20 meters (WARC and above if conditions
warrant) +/- QRM.

SSB frequencies will be approximately 3940, 7240, 14240, 21240, 28340
kHz +/- QRM. SSB operation will probably be used during daylight
hours, with CW during the night hours.

Mid-MO ARC will QSL 100% to your address as shown at www.qsz.com.
----------------------------------------------------------------
We request NO QSLs, NO SASEs AND NO MONEY!

If your mailing address is not correct at www.qrz.com, or if you wish
to have the QSL sent to another address, PLEASE send your CORRECT
