[Elecraft] update on any changes to late serial #'s re. rx audio?

I have been away from K2's for perhaps a year and am considering 
building again. The only (and I mean only) frustration I've ever had 
with K2's is the lackluster audio (a subjective observation) which has 
been a subject on this reflector. My way around it in the past, to a 
point, was judicious adjustment in how the AGC was set during the build 
(balancing tradeoffs). I never did get around to hooking up an amplified 
Motorola speaker. Anyway, my question is this: since about serial #'s 
4200-4300 or so have there been any design changes to the current K2 kit 
that address this question. I know it's been raised by many in the past 
- but just curious if there were any changes I missed. Thank you in
