I also agree with Ron that it is not an overwhelming problem to reenter the 
settings, but is a bit time consuming  and potentially error prone.  As I 
look at the programmers reference, it seems that reading the settings is 
pretty straightforward.  You can just go into the normal cal/fil setup 
through KIO2, and send ds; to read the display.  Restoring would be a bit 
trickier, since I don't see any way to directly send numbers.  So you would 
have to read the current setting, then send the appropriate number of up; or 
dn; commands to get it to the correct value (and probably recheck to make 
sure you are there.)   I haven't seen anyway to directly read/write the 
filter settings without going through the menu, but all of the menu functions 
are available by sending the equivalent of button presses.

It isn't a major issue; I was just surprised nobody had done it.  I may play 
with it myself a bit but thought I would check if anyone else had tried.
